CRAGAR FIVE SECOND CLUB 1972

In 1972 Ivo ran the FIRST five second run! He was inducted into the Cragar Five Second Club at the 1973 NHRA Winternationals. Tommy Ivo is seen here in this press release photo, with Wally Parks and Tom Shedden.

The portrait from that occasion hangs proudly here in Ivo's home trophy room. Here also you can see the cover of Drag News that broadcast this fact to the world - that the five second barrier had been broken...!!!

INTERNATIONAL DRAG RACING HALL OF FAME

In 1991, TV Tommy Ivo was among the very first group of drag racers who were inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame. Ivo felt truly honored to be chosen to be a part of the initial awards of what was to become an annual event.

On two occasions, Garlits deemed Ivo worthy of being on the cover of the IDRHOF Annual Program. For (competitor) Don Garlits to recognize TV Tommy Ivo worthy of ANYTHING is, in it's self, an auspicious occasion, considering their years of intense racing rivalry.

HOT ROD MAGAZINE HALL OF FAME

In 1995, Hot Rod magazine had a one time only gala event in Las Vegas designed to honor the 100 most influential people in all of racing. The room was packed with the heavy hitters of motorsports that night...!!!

CAR CRAFT MAGAZINE
ALL STAR DRAG RACE TEAM

Then in 1995, Car Craft magazine honored Ivo with the biggest award of that year's ALL STAR DRAG RACE TEAM - the "Life Time Achievement OLLIE Award" (Prudhomme was coincidentally the man of the year award).

SUPER STOCK MAGAZINE HALL OF FAME

In 1997, Super Stock magazine inducted Ivo into their Hall of Fame in Rockingham, NC. This Event also included a race at the Rockingham Track. Throughout the years, Ivo had often been one of their cover cars!

DIECAST HALL OF FAME

TV Tom's latest Hall of Fame induction took place in Las Vegas, where he was inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame. Joining him were his good friend Shirley Muldowney and NASCAR fellow racer Richard Petty.
